A culotte here is not cut down from a trouser pattern at speed. The cloth is handwoven, the dye is azo-free, and the silhouette is drawn to move. Made slowly. Worn often. Kept for years.
How our handwoven cotton culottes are made
The cloth comes first, woven metre by metre by hand before a pattern is cut. Handwoven cotton culottes take their ease from the weight and hand of that cloth, and their line from a wide, cropped silhouette. The finishing inside matches the outside, down to the hand-stitched inner label. The making is slow, and it is meant to be felt in the wearing.
